TFL Aluminium Stand offs (Support Columns)

These aluminium support columns are a female-threaded version of the traditional big-head mounting post, designed specifically for marine RC applications where water protection and secure mounting are critical.

Machined from solid aluminium, each column features a 19 mm diameter base for excellent load distribution and an 8 mm diameter post with an M4 internal thread, making them ideal for mounting trays, brackets, and platforms using standard hardware.

The primary purpose of these columns is to raise electronics off the bottom of the hull, helping protect ESCs, batteries, receivers, and servos from water ingress caused by sloshing, spray, or condensation inside the boat. Elevating components significantly reduces the risk of corrosion, short circuits, and long-term reliability issues.

Each base includes multiple holes around the foot, specifically designed to create a mechanical key when bonded into the hull. When bedded in using epoxy or structural adhesive, these holes allow the adhesive to flow through and lock the column in place, resulting in an extremely strong and permanent fixing — far superior to flat-base standoffs.
