They detect the voltage of each cells, support reverse connection protection. When the voltage is below the setting value, the buzzer will sound. 

To know the working state of your battery anytime, protect the battery from over charge/discharge. The default setting is 6.5V, press the button to change the voltage setting, and it will save your current setting automatically.
